The Sam Adams Brewery Tour

October 21, 2011

How could I live closest to Stony Brook and not go on the Sam Adams Brewery Tour? Almost every day of the week in September and still every weekend in October, bros, couples, and families have been departing my stop with big bags emblazoned with Paul Revere in lieu of Sam Adams. So I finally went and had a great time for a $2 voluntary donation to local charities.

The tour was informative but speedy, beginning with the ingredients and moving to the brewing (I’m guessing most brew tours go this way…)

Chocolate malt for stout

My favorite was the "Caramel 160" used in the Boston Lager

Add water and yeast for beer

Andy was a pretty funny guy

And then there was tasting

In a room with awesome memorabilia

We tried 3: the Boston Lager, the Red Brick, and the Oktoberfest

Our little glasses had helpful instructions

An award-winning Saturday activity - what are you waiting for?

Damn it Ciss. Why are you going to be in Austin by the time I get back to the States. I wanna feel the origins of chocolate stout in my hands too!

    Cheers bro!
