Toronto’s Sandwich/St. Lawrence Market, Pt. 2

According to my Chowhound research and my brother’s favorite food site, Serious Eats, the peameal bacon sandwich is Toronto’s sandwich and one of the best of its kind is from the Carousel Bakery. Their stand was certainly one of the prettiest and busiest at the market:

First impressions: Everyone around us has a peameal bacon sandwich in hand. I know peameal bacon isn’t bacon so much as it is Canadian bacon with a peameal crust. What a beautiful bun:

Smells: Warm bread. Salty ham with a hint of porky fat.

Sauces: Carousel offered an array of mustards on a side counter for DIY dressing. There may have also been other condiments but I was all about the spicy honey Dijon:

So much porky goodness at the St. Lawrence Market.
